6.1 Set training goals for my team and include them in my pharmacy business plan and staff appraisals.
Planning is the first step. It involves undertaking a training needs assessment (TNA) to help you create a meaningful training plan for your team to achieve your business goals identified in your SWOT analysis.
A TNA is a useful tool to help you understand the gaps within your team. It will allow you to plan the right training to achieve the right outcomes for your business. The aim is to create a flat team that is competent in all aspects of your business, allowing for some team members to specialise in and take ownership of some services or functions in the pharmacy e.g. weight management or stocktaking.
